Sternwheeler Catalog, The Marine Iron Works of Chicago
This 1902 catalog is 25 pages of quaint text and cuts of smallish vessels (50-125 feet in length) that could be useful to someone planning a small commercial or personal paddlewheel steamer. For example, this little pamphlet gives valuable information that would be difficult to calculate: their fifty-footer was fitted with an engine measuring 5" x 20" for 22 IHP, its draft was 12 inches light, and 20 inches with 9 tons load.
Accompanied by our title STERNWHEELERS & STEAM TUGS, the designer will get a pretty good picture of how to build his (or her) own personal sternwheel steamer.
